Status: Customer Beta
Purpose: Fixes
Requirements: A valid product key (for Affinity Store purchases), or an installation of the full retail version from the Microsoft Store

As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents. We hope you enjoy the latest build, and as always, if you've got any problems, please don't hesitate to post a new thread in this forum and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks once again for your continued feedback.

If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum.

Changes

  • Many performance improvements for large documents
  • Fixed Trotec JobControl no longer working in 1.9.2
  • Fixed PDF Import using wrong widths for some accented characters in Helvetica
  • Fixed being unable to type decimals / rational numbers for regions that use commas instead of fullstops
  • Fixed updating a PDF via resource manager resetting Interpret/Passthrough
  • Fixed some font weights remaining in All Caps after toggling them off using the Character Panel

Hi Mark, kindly delete if you're aware of this already/ don't want to spook people. I'm not sure what it is flagging, but may want to potentially look into it. Acronis is hitting for one signature in this beta.

I'm not sure if that is normal for these releases, but thought I'd share just in case!

Hi, thanks for that. I believe it'll be a false positive.

Hello, I noticed the beta crashing less with actions that would crash the release version constantly. Do you have any idea, why that might be?

I detailed the crash behaviour in this post:

I tested it this morning and the same actions that crashed the retail version quite reliable (opening and closing layer-groups, adjusting global colours in the colour-window) didn't crash the beta. Any idea, why it seems more stable now?

This version still crashes for me right after trying to create a new file from preset sizes (architectural, 12x8, landscape).

Works fine here. (architectural, 12x8, landscape) -> (architectural, 12x18, landscape).

Scenario:

Create two shapes (tested it with circle and rectangle tool). Both have to be closed initially. Convert both to curve. Use break curve on one shape, then select both shapes, select all nodes of one shape, then drag those nodes onto one node of the other shape (tested with snapping on only) leads to a crash. Reproducable.

since they just get ignored

They're not ignored, from what the Serif Staff have said. They're read, and factored into their plans. But generally Serif won't comment on feature requests.

Hi Solarnaar,

If you do come across a bug with the beta build please create a new thread detailing the bug and reproduction methods, rather than posting in the announcement thread. It keeps the announcement thread clean and from cross posting/replying to all different bugs.

In this case I had already moved this report from the last thread into a new topic and replied to it stating that I had reproduced it and passed it on to development:
