Blank canvas upon PNG export

Upon exporting a very simple file (very simple black strokes on a transparent canvas) with 1 single layer using PNG8, it comes out blank. When it works (once), "PNG8 dither" seems to be the only format in which other applications can recognize the exported file's format (I am making cookie molds 3D printed by extruding the outline of a shape drawed on AD and exported as a PNG that I can then import into OpenSCAD). Fireworks used to work with no issues at all for PNG8 or 24, but I don't know if AD has a bug or if I just need to understand more complex export configurations in AD to achieve the simple PNG file export.

I am attaching the afdesign file that gets exported as a blank canvas, as well as the exported file. I hope you are able to point me in the right direction or at least let me know that AD cannot export PNG properly so I don't keep on trying .

Hi @gsalomaand Welcome to the Forums,

Can you just confirm which Preset on the PNG export worked for you?  

Also when you go to File>Export if you click on the Preview button do you see a preview?

In our tests, using PNG-8 and the preview option results in a blank Preview with your file and also a blank export.  Which i have logged with the Dev team, i was also able to replicate this in a new file using my own brush strokes and from speaking with our QA team, we aren't sure why that is.  As soon as i know more, i'll update here

Thanks for your answer @storkerg. In deed the File > Export > Preview button does show the blank canvas for me as well (I hadn't even noticed that there was a preview button to be very honest).

The preset export settings that worked for me (with one single file) were: PNG-8 (dithered) with resample: bilinear and area: whole document.

I am attaching that particular file here in case it helps you guys discover differences that lead to understanding why the export works for that file but not for others.

Any ideas as to how long it could to take to correct this bug?

If a month or so, I can sit tight. Otherwise, please advise so I can start investigating a different course of action.
