Som09mer Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Hello Everybody I'm new to the Affinity Software Suite and have only a bit experience in editing photos in Lightroom so far. Since I don't like the approach of Adobe to pay for the software on a monthly basis (and my Standalone Lightroom Version is not able to handle my new camera) I have decided to switch. Unfortunately I now don't know the appropriate workflow for my task, which is why I am writing. The baseline: In my local sports club we want to create some marketing material for an upcoming event. The Idea is that it all has about the same design, but varying degrees of information. What we would like to create: - Flyer (size of A6) with basic information (date, place, time, main sponsor) [I added an example in the Attachments) - Folding brochure (probably Z-Folding) with all sponsors and a detailed timetable and maybe a map, handed out at the event - Sign at the village entrance (square) (same Information as Flyer, but text bigger) - (Optional) Poster to put up at the entrance of the event (similar to Flyer but bigger, like A2 or A3) My Question: What is the optimal workflow for this? From what I have seen, I'd use Photo to edit the base photo and maybe cut out the Background of the Athlete. Then I'd use Designer for creating things like Title and additional graphics (to fill blank space if needed) And lastly Publisher to place these single elements on the various Printouts? Is this about right or can I leave out one step? Thank you in advance for your help Kind Regards P.S. I'm sorry if I made any spelling or grammar errors. Quote

With all 3 apps, you could likely do this all in Publisher due to StudioLink and switching between personas. If place an image on the page, switch to the Photo Persona and edit it. Then switch back. You could then switch to the Designer Persona and make a graphic/drawing to fill a space and switch back again I'm sure if anyone else has any tips on workflow for this, they will post shortly Quote
GarryP Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 I think I would use Designer for this sort of thing. Place each different design in a separate Artboard (each of a different size) and use Symbols to replicate shared items – logos, etc. – across designs. You may not need Photo if the Pixel Persona of Designer suits your needs for isolating things in images (e.g. removing the background). Quote
