Fujifilm Raw (RAF) compatibility problems in develop persona

Recommended Posts

Hi!

When I import a RAF-File into Affinity Photo, one of three things will happen:

1. huge parts of the image get cut of (the top third and the bottom third) [in this example, the original image is 6246 x 4170 px and it is cropped to 6276 x 1004 px]1895736483_2021-05-0900_20_41-Window.thumb.png.6166591207b64e04994c3af1b9aa7f7c.png_DSF7194.thumb.JPG.51f2e45eab1db51acec7564529ff1a5d.JPG

2. a black line appears on the right of the image (which shows up on the developed photo as well) [I can cut it of by cropping, but it is annoying after all]1248212183_2021-05-0900_27_41-Window.thumb.png.3ececff289aa489a08a88d175e0257d2.png_DSF7098.thumb.JPG.c6f6f9a709ebffc9aa931f60862300b8.JPG

3. everything works as intended 😃

It seems to be related to the focal length and the lens I used

For the first example I used a Fujifilm X-S10 Camera with a Fujinon XC50-230mmF4.5-6.7 OIS II lens set to 230mm; for the second example I used a Fujifilm X-S10 Camera with a Fujinon XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS lens set to 55mm.

My Version is 1.9.2.1035 on windows 10

I attached the original files for you to try to reproduce the issue.

Best Regards, Pepe

I can confirm this.

For me, the right side is slightly concave when lens correction is selected in the develop persona.

When I look at the images in XNView, they are complete and without a concave right border.

The second issue is likely due to the lens correction and/or the fact we do not throw away pixels as to allow the user to decide. It looks like they are redundant pixels anyway at the right-edge because if I open it in IrfanView, you can see the image has already been cropped.

No idea about the first and I don't think I've seen that before so I will feed it back to the developers.

The issue "RAF is heavily cropped on open (Serif Labs & Apple Core)" (REF: AFP-4488) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1781".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
