jpapdb Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Hi, I tried the following: Create a new empty PSD document in Photoshop CC and drop on it a simple vector file. The vector file is imported as a smart object. Save the PSD doc and open it in Affinity Photo 1.9.3. The smart object is shown as a raster layer instead of vector smart object. Of course, I already checked the "import smart objects" checkbox in the settings screen. Are vector smart objects not supported at all ? Thanks! Quote
Staff MEB Posted May 10, 2021 Staff Posted May 10, 2021 Hi @jpapdb, Welcome to Affinity Forums Affinity apps are only able to import smart objects created internally, as PSB files (which Photoshop iself can edit). Any external files dropped in a Photoshop document will be imported and embedded in their native formats - Photoshop can't edit them neither we support them when imported as smart objects in a PSD file. If you draw a vector rectangle in Photoshop, convert it to a smart object and save the file as PSD, Affinity will import it as a smart object. I'm logging this/filling an improvement request to see if this can be improved. Thanks for your report. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
