Arnorf96
I would like to add an ageing effect to some monochrome images I have. The effect I'm looking for is one pictures that have knocked about a bit in the shoebox, white flecks where the emulsion has been chipped, scratches and just generally a hard life. I'd also like to adjust the effects to get the right level.
Andy05
There are countless tutorials about how to achieve this. Even if they might be for Photoshop, most steps can be done in Affinity Photo in a similar way. Arnorf96 1 Quote »A designer's job is to improve the general quality of life. The old free Google version should be still available for download from various sources, probably via archive.org. Search the forum for Nik Collection. firstdefence
Simply using a textured layer and blend modes/options will likely get you what you want. white marble with dark veins works well with the new divide blend mode. Finding brushes that give a vintage look is also an easy option. With regard to plugins JixiPix tick a lot of boxes, such as Photo Formation: putting creases and folds among other paper effects is pretty cool. adding subtle creases where overlaid textures hint at a crease. or if anyone has some sticky tape to patch this back up I'd be grateful... 🤪 Arnorf96 and PaulEC 1 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... Link available from: https://lenscraft.co.uk/photography-blog/can-i-get-the-nik-collection-download-free/ This site also has information on using the NIK Collection. It's worth mentioning that the free version (unlike the paid version) is destructive, so I would suggest always working on a copy of your image rather than the original.
