Taking Jpeg + Raw and I can't change to Raw for editing

I know this is very noob question.    I just started taking pictures in Jpeg + Raw.   Got Affinity and when opening to the editor Jpeg shows up.   Once I was able to change that to Raw but I've totally gotten a brain fart and can't remember how I did that once I'm in the software.     I would rather now take the pictures in Raw + Jpeg format.    I've watched countless video's but they always seem to have the picture open up in raw.

Welcome to the forums @TAB,

1. Go to File>Open
2. Navigate to a RAW file, select it, then press Open.
3. This will open in the Develop Persona.
4. Once through making adjustments in the Develop Persona, press the Develop Button, found in the upper left. This applies the adjustments you made, and then opens into the Edit Persona.

RAW images must be Demosiac / Developed, because until then, it's just data.

It would help if you told us which OS (Mac or Windows) you use & where the RAW & JPEG files appear on your computer. So for example, if you use a Mac you might be transferring your photos to the Apple Photos app & trying to open them from there in AP.

Sorry, I should have explained more.    I use OS BigSur and Jpeg + Raw are in Photos.    I just figured out I was able to change the image in Photos (use Raw as original) when I did it the first time.    When I got Affinity Photo I was trying to change in the Affinity program.        Tough getting old.......
