Content on the project going back to previous version without notice

Hi developers, i got this really annoying and quite fatal bug in either the designer or photo app on ipad.

It sometimes goes back to the previous version after i edited some objects or text. For example : client told me to change a text from “animal” to “mammal” after i change it, the client then ask me to also change the picture of a duck to a dog. After i change the picture to a dog, the text goes back to “animal” without me noticing, even though I’ve changed it to “mammal” and saved it before.  This usually happens after i close the app or after it crashes because of some reason. Please fix this bug because i often get complaint from my clients. I really wanna go all in with affinity especially the ipad version.

What is your workflow when starting and saving a project? Affinity apps store their working files in sandbox until they are saved externally. The external file is linked to the sandbox version but automatic saves only update the sandbox version, so you can end up with different versions of the file in folder and sandbox, until you do a manual save.

I find that the safest workflow is to create a new file, use 'Save a Copy' to name your file, and navigate to external folder to save it. Close the file and delete the icon on Home Screen (3 bar menu Close). Now use Open from Cloud, navigate to your previously saved file and open it. You now have a Save option in the Document menu and this will update the folder version. Use it regularly.
