Saved Portrait crop reverts to Landscape crop

Created a 2x6 ratio crop and saved it. On recalling the 2x6 crop on another image it gives me a 6x2 crop!

Is the image in question from a digital camera? I’m wondering whether the switch from portrait to landscape is caused by orientation info from the EXIF data.

Issue exists on all versions, not just beta.
