delpi767 Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 Suppose I have zoomed int a specific area of a photo to do some delicate work. Periodically, I want to zoom to fit the screen (Ctrtl-0) to see how things look overall. Now I want to zoom back to the previous view. Is there a shortcut to do so? Second question, when I am refining a mask I often want to switch between foreground and background. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this? Thanks, -dmd- Quote

One possibility is when you are in each of the two views is to use View > New View to create two independent views, each in its own workspace window or tab. You can then use View > Views to toggle between them or click on a tab, just like they were two different documents, each open in its own view. Another possibility to use the advanced mode of the Navigator panel, where you can create & name as many view points as you want. These are saved with the document. delpi767 Posted May 7, 2021 Author Posted May 7, 2021 Thanks, I'd figured that out. I was looking for a keyboard shortcut but I guess I have no choice but to get the mouse/tablet involved. Quote

AFAIK, those shortcuts sequence through any/all view points set in the Navigation panel. I don't see any one shortcut that toggles between 2 viewpoints. Fixx Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 I would make two views and use shortcut to switch window. Baked-in zoom levels are ok too but they zoom to document center, not to active element. Quote

I think the shortcut you want for swapping foreground/background colors is called Swap Line and Fill in the Keyboard Shortcuts preference dialog. If there are only two view points, then the two shortcuts Move to Previous/Next View Point would do the same thing so setting either one would be enough. Setting up both of them wouldn't really be that useful unless the document had quite a few view points added to it. delpi767 Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 Lets say I am cutting out a golfer so I am zoomed into the face. Now I want to view the entire image to see how things are looking. Now I want to go to the previos "view". Yes, I can create a view but the means every time I move to a different part of an image I have to create a new view. That is probable more cumbersome than just zooming every time. I guess what I am looking for is a way to toggle to the previous view and back, I don't remember where, but in one of the previous drawing programs I've used that required only a simple keyboard shortcut. loukash 1 Quote
