Atlus Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 Affinity Photo 1.9.2.1035 with options: Tablet Input Method: High Precision Tablets: XP-Pen Deco Pro, XP-Pen Deco 1. Driver ver.: 3.1.1.210301 I have issue with these tablets, when i start line there is created 2 lines: 1 for very start and 2 main line. I need to press 2 times Ctrl+Z to cancel this line. If i use Low Precision, there is no this problem, but another problem with lines they are not so sharp how in High Precision. Quote

Atlus Posted May 7, 2021 Author Posted May 7, 2021 This mode works like "Low Precision" not sharp lines. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted May 7, 2021 Staff Posted May 7, 2021 Hi @Atlus, XP pen tablets/drivers are known for their poor compatibility. High precision uses Wintab to give us input history and sub-pixel precision. Not just for new tablets, but for any tablet with a properly working Wintab driver. Low precision also uses Wintab, but just the most basic parts of it (no history, no sub-pixel precision). It's like using a mouse but with pressure. Some drivers only seem to work in this mode. Windows Ink also gives us input history and sub-pixel precision, but not quite as good as Wintab. Atlus 1 Quote
Atlus Posted May 8, 2021 Author Posted May 8, 2021 Hello @Gabe, thank you. Is that mean this is not affinity bug? In other software i can't repeat that bug. Quote
Gnobelix Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Hello @Atlus, what you can try is, enable Windows ink in Affinity Photo, disadvantage: the right click of the pen does not work. If you use a Nvidia graphics card, install the studio driver 462.31. This can solve some problems with Affinity-Photo. Maybe it will help, it's worth a try. Are you sure those other software use Wintab with input history and sub-pixel precision? If they use just the basic Wintab features(similar to Low Precision) you would not see the double stroke. It's not a bug within our apps, as the tablet driver would be delivering the input. What if you use "Windows Ink" in Preferences > Tools > Tablet Input Quote
Atlus Posted May 10, 2021 Author Posted May 10, 2021 Hello @Gnobelix, @Gabe When i select Windows Ink, affinity not use pressing force and lines always has same size(like left mouse). I don't now what use other software, i recorded gif for demonstration(Affinity in Windows Ink). Quote
Staff Gabe Posted May 10, 2021 Staff Posted May 10, 2021 I'm afraid you gonna have to fall back on Low Precision for now. Quote
