I need help with the divide function on iPad.  I have 2 almost identical shapes that I want to add a colour behind by using the divide function. But when I select divide for each shape they both divide differently. One as desired one not as desired.

I attached an image showing the difference.  You can see that one divides with a "fill" shape and the other divides with the outline shape.

My question is, how do I get shapes to divide consistently?

If I’ve correctly understood your description of the problem, you need to apply the ‘Expand Stroke’ command to the ‘outline’ version of the eye shape. This will convert it from a stroke to a filled shape, and the ‘Divide’ command should then produce the desired result.

Thanks for the advice.

That’s actually what I did to both versions. I applied expand stroke to both curve drawings, then divide, one produced a shape with a "fill" one produced an outline.  It’s strange because both drawings are almost exact.

Hi @lafasta,

Can you please provide a sample Affinity document containing the objects shown in your screenshot so we can look into this further for you here?

Many thanks in advance :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
