IJN Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 This is a noob question I can't figure out. I've made 3 vector images by bitmap tracing in Inkscape. I arrange them into a design in Affinity and want to colour each image differently. The only way I can figure out how to do this is through opening the 'edit document' for each image, which means I can only colour them without seeing them in the context of the design. So, color then click, back, colour then click back. I'd like to be able to see all three at once, click on one one and colour it in context. How do I do this simple thing? Thank you Quote
Old Bruce Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 Hi and welcome to the forums @IJN, I would use an Recolour Adjustment Layer for each embedded document. I would also have it as a child layer of the embedded document, that way the colour only affects that document. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thank you When you edit an embedded document any changes you make are reflected in real time on the main document (not just when you close the embedded document) So, if you have enough space (or two screens) just arrange for both the main document and the embedded document to display at the same time, then when you change the colours in the embedded document you will automatically see them change in the main document Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

If you use a Mac you will need to use Window > Separated Mode to see both at the same time.
