Hello there, first of all i hope you can understand my problem, i am not a native speaker, so if there is anything unclear, please let me know!

I have some problems with the "expand stroke" function:

I draw lines with the brush tool, controller is set to "pressure" and i draw the lines by using a simple wacom tablet. I refine the linework by using the pressure control panel in the curve function (selecting move tool, clicking on the curve, and then going to stroke -> control panel)

When i am finished with the inking process and click on "expand stroke" to finalize the drawing (my screen printer needs all the strokes expanded), the expand stroke feature cuts away a lot of the line weight.

Any idea what might be the problem? Or if there is any workaround? Thank you in advance guys!

Welcome to the Affinity forums :)

There is a "thinning" bug.

When size variance (see brush editor) of the stroke's brush is 0% or 100%, then the stroke expansion will not be thinned.

But for other values of size variance, expansion results in thinning that is inversely related to variance. For example, 1% becomes hugely thinned, 50% becomes very significantly thinned, 90% becomes slightly thinned.

Thank you so much, anon2!

As a workaround, I set the size variance to 100% and changed the pressure profiles to my liking. Works for me! However I hop that Affinity will take care of this bug some day.
