Ewuszka
Dear Affinity Designer users, how to resize a project without distortion on iPad? Below you can find attached 2 versions of an image. The 1st one is correct, 2nd is distorted after resizing canvas. Thanks for your help and time.
Staff Lee D Posted May 6, 2021 Staff Share Posted May 6, 2021 @EwuszkaDoes the same occur if you resize the Document instead? Is the design made up of just brushes strokes (vector/pixel)?
Ewa
Yes, the same happens when I try to resize the document. This illustration is made up only by vector brushes 🙂

If so they are not true vectors. could you attach a sample afdesign file for testing🙂 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). DM1
Using resize to half the original size and then resize again to return to original size. Not to confuse but as Alfred points out you can use multiply and divide characters to simplify calculations 😁 IMG_7270.MP4 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Not that it should affect the outcome but I’m curious to know why you didn’t let the app do the arithmetic! To be honest mate, I rarely resize and didn’t even think about it. Certainly a better idea though as I struggled with the maths anyway😂 Alfred 1 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). DM1
@Alfred I was unable to resize canvas without it also resizing the Document. I know you can do this in Photo. Is it not possible in Designer, or is it because it’s an Artboard? Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Ewa
Thank you 😊 it works but if I want to resize canvas too? The original size of the document and canvas is 210mm x 297mm. Let’s say I need to make it bigger to 297mm x 420mm. How to do this?
Wosven
If it's the same as with the desktop app: you can select the artboard and resize it. But first, ensure the "scale with object" propertie of each strokes is checked. Select your artboard, select the Move Tool, and uncheck "lock children". Select the Artboard tool, and resize the artboard. If you don't have any artboard, resize using "document setup".

In files without Artboards you select canvas rather than document and it works. Not so with an artboard (bug?). IMG_7273.MP4 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
