Mark Downey Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Hi all, bought all 3 from the MAS today, installed them and launched all of them. I have rebooted, launched them all multiple times and in different orders, but Studio link still says App Launch required. Running an M1 MBA running on macOS 11.3. Never had any Affinity software trials or otherwise installed, everything on the Mac is stock and set up just a couple weeks ago. Quote
GaryLearnTech Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Hi @Mark Downey and belated welcome to the Affinity forums. In case you're still looking for a solution - I wonder if you have adopted a strange app install workflow, perhaps due to limited storage space? I recall seeing lots of problems reported when StudioLink first came out and often the explanation was that users had not installed the apps in the standard folder: /Applications. I know you said you bought all three from the Mac App Store, but did you relocate any of them after the install? Mark Downey Posted May 9, 2021 Author Posted May 9, 2021 No, nothing was moved post install. Installed Publisher first, used it for a while and after linking it bought the other two apps. After launching them both I checked to see if I could switch personas, but nothing seems to enable them. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted May 13, 2021 Staff Posted May 13, 2021 Hi @Mark Downey, Sorry for the delayed reply. What if you create a new doc in Publisher, and choose File > Edit in > Photo or Designer. I wonder if that works. Quote
Mark Downey Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 (edited) Yes, selecting "Edit in ..." under the file menu will launch the respective app. I am just unable to use the feature that switches context within Publisher. Edited May 13, 2021 by Mark Downey edited for clarity Quote
Old Bruce Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Are the Version Numbers all the same for each of the applications? Currently 1.9.3 on Mac. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Staff Gabe Posted May 14, 2021 Staff Posted May 14, 2021 Where are they currently installed? /Applications ? Quote
Mark Downey Posted May 14, 2021 Author Posted May 14, 2021 Yes, they are all in /Applications, never moved after clicking install from the Mac AppStore. Quote
