Affinity Photo on iPad: How to copy from Affinity Photo, paste into other app?

Recommended Posts

I would like to paste a selection from Affinity Photo into another app on my iPad. Here is what I did:

  1. Open the photo in Affinity Photo
  2. Changed Persona to Selections
  3. Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool
  4. Switch Persona to Photo to access Pasteboard menu
  5. Choose Pasteboard> Copy
  6. Switch to other app
  7. Paste is not there! (paste is there when I copy from other apps)

What is wrong? Thank you.

It's just not possible at the moment.  If you see this thread in Feedback/Feature Suggestions, it has come up before and i'm sure in other threads.  Hopefully it's something the Dev team can add in a future update.

Thanks @stokerg

Really? I find this ridiculous. Oh well. Can you recommend an image editor that can copy and paste on iPad? I would like to be able to copy a selection of an image (not crop a rectangle). Thank you.

On a pixel layer, create your selection, then select duplicate selection. Hide all other layers leaving just your selected layer. Use Export (PNG) - Share - COPY. Then go to to other app and PASTE.

Just an update on this, not sure if others know, but if you use the EXPORT -> SHARE -> COPY method but have SVG selected, then you can actually easily transfer your layers from Designer to Photo or any other software that supports SVG such as Vectornator. In fact using the exact same method allows easy copy and paste from Vectornator to Affinity.
