Tom Verzele
Hello, I am IT support for our company and one of our users is having issues with Affinity Photo. Every time when we try to open a picture, Affinity Photo gets stuck at "Loading 1 document" We tried opening all sorts of files , but it is always the same result. The only way to quit Affinity Photo is by task manager. I already tried renaming "%AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0" to "%AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0_old" but that didn't help OS :Windows 10 20H2 Affinity Photo : 1.9.2.1035 Is there something else we can try ? Kind Regards, Tom

I guess it could be easier developing for Mac instead of developing for (nearly) endless hardware configurations on Windows. For safety reasons I turned hwa off for AP, but left it on for AD and APu. So far I had nearly no problem ... toitoitoi ... knocking on wood. If you look for problems solved by turning off Metal on the forum, you will see that this type of problem is not only related to Windows. Of course, the number of possible HW combinations is much higher in Windows, so I don't understand that Serif (after a bad experience with HW Acceleration on a Mac) left it on by default, so for many users it mean completely non-functional applications.
