wonderings
Is it Adobe's issue that Bridge cannot display Affinity files? I thought I remember reading a while back on this forum that the closed nature of Affinities applications and formats makes this difficult without them opening up some of their proprietary code, or whatever it is. The assumption that Affinity is all open is far from the truth, it is very closed off. I do not think it is a bad thing, they want to make money, they make a great product for a great price. Just giving away what they have would probably not be a smart thing.

From previous posts by Serif staff the Affinity applications support the standard OS interfaces for thumbnail extraction. Why give an inch to a competitor, even a really small one. I never use Bridge but am curious, does it display native working files for other apps not developed or owned by Adobe? Like a CDR or QXD file, will they display in Bridge? Snapseed
LOB
I'd appreciate the cross application support in this case. In my case I prefer Affinity but just cannot get rid of Adobe for certain things... and bridge being able to display all the work I've done in Affinity would be very helpful. iuli
PaoloT
It's absolutely surprising that they don't help their customers to migrate toward a competing suite! What are they thinking??? Paolo PaulEC, Old Bruce and AdamStanislav
chessboard
XnView MP is also free and can handle Affinity files well, including previews - as well as Photoshop and Illustrator files. In my eyes there's no need for Adobe Bridge. Snapseed

But I suppose, many Affinty users would use it for this case and not for commercial use. Otherwise, the license costs for XnViewMP are very moderate. Any commercial user should be able to purchase a license at this cost. Snapseed
