Lizzie James
I import a pdf into Affinity Publisher and it is removing letters, specifically ones involving the letter 'f'. For example, it will remove the 'fi' from the word 'fiction' and 'ff' from the word 'office'. This is stressful because I am a book formatter so when I want to add a full image beneath the text, I now have to through the ENTIRE DOCUMENT to ensure there are no spelling errors!!!! Can you please advise?

Close the application and restart. Now the fonts should be not available anymore.
Lizzie James
I have tried that but it is still deleting letters on any pdf I add to Affinity
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Lizzie. 30 minutes ago, Lizzie James said: I import a pdf into Affinity Publisher and it is removing letters, specifically ones involving the letter 'f'. For example, it will remove the 'fi' from the word 'fiction' and 'ff' from the word 'office'. What’s happening is that there is an embedded subset of the font in the PDF, but that subset only includes individual letters. So when ligatures are used for letter sequences such as the ‘fi’ in ‘fiction’ or the ‘ff’ (or, more likely, the ‘ffi’) in ‘office’, they aren’t available for display and you get a blank instead. To fix it, you need to arrange for the font to be embedded without subsetting. h_d 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.3.1 (iPad 7th gen)
