immaconsult
I am an avid user of the affinity programs, but every time I use it, I get annoyed about the senseless and counterproductive assignment of the rotation function to the CMD button. The Alt key next to it is assigned the very helpful and constantly used zoom function. It often happens that when you are editing, you accidentally do not land on the cmd key, but on the neighboring alt key, causing the page to rotate. Unfortunately, there is no Cmd-Z undo function and the manual turning back to the zero position proves to be unreasonable because of the large jumps and brings you to the edge of despair. this is how you can throw an otherwise excellent program on the wrong track. My request to the programmers: change this nonsensical keyboard function or treat it to an undo function.
walt.farrell
First, there is no "Undo" function because you are not making a change to the document when you perform that rotation. You are only changing your view of the document. But there is a "Reset Rotation" function, which is part of the View menu, and which also has a keyboard shortcut. On Windows, it's Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R by default. On Mac it's probably Cmd+Opt+Shift+R by default (check the View menu to see for sure, or check your Preferences, Keyboard Shortcuts, where you can also change it if you want). Next: on Windows, the Rotate function is tied to Alt (Mac Option?), not to Ctrl (Mac Cmd). But in either case, you should find that you can disable the function entirely via Preferences, Tools. On Windows it's this setting: Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.3, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.
