Welcome to the Affinity forums.

Which app?  And which OS?  Do you know which file is downloading?  Can you post a screenshot of the full message you see?

Also, do you really mean a file is downloading (like from the web) or one already on your system is being opened in an Affinity app?

Without opening a document, go into...

Edit > Preferences > Performance and untick Hardware Acceleration (if ticked)

Due to the fact that Boris Johnson is now our Prime Minister, punctuation, spelling and grammar will never be worried about ever again.  We now have far bigger problems to be worried about.

More evidence Serif should not have Hardware Acceleration enabled by default. Until such time they get this major bug ironed out.
