Actaeon
Hello, Any suggestions, please, on how I could turn this section heading into a single line within the Table of Contents? The heading, as it appears here, deploys hard returns. Putting the figure 1 into a separate text frame still causes the Table of Contents to list this section heading on two lines, whereas a single uninterrupted line would be preferable. Thanks in advance!

Antonio Costanzo
You may consider watching this tutorial. Furthermore, I found rather another solution. To display chapter numbers, you can also provide your Table of Content style with numbering. It works better for me. firstdefence and Actaeon
walt.farrell
You can use soft returns (Line Breaks) to separate the chapter number and the chapter title. That will keep them as a single paragraph. Then use the option in the TOC to remove line breaks. I have, in fact, watched this before and, though it doesn't quite address my situation, it is an excellent and informative video in many ways. Thanks again. I am glad you managed to resolve your own similar situation.

I had not used a "soft return" before and did not really know what they were for, but they work superbly for this situation. walt.farrell
