MarcoFace
Hello there, Bit of a noob question so apologies in advance. I've created these different coloured rectangles and I want to cut off the ends so that the bars form a circle. You can see where I am now and a "what I'm trying to achieve" screen shot as well. Ignore the white cut-out in the middle. What is the best way to achieve this? Thank you! AF Designer in Windows
v_kyr
One way is, to group all the rectangles together and then clip that group underneath to the circle/ellipse, aka ... screencast_clipping.mp4 MarcoFace 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.

To do the same thing but including the white cut-out, start by placing the cut-out shape on top of the ellipse, selecting both shapes and performing a Boolean ‘Subtract’ (either via the icon in the Geometry section of the toolbar or via the command on the ‘Layer > Geometry’ submenu). Clipping the group of rectangles to the new shape will give you the result you showed at the end of your original post.
