petepompei
Hi there, I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I've only just joined the forum. I'm trying to create a circle divided into 12 segments, each segment filled by alternative colours as per the casino chip I'm including in this post. Any help creating this will be greatly appreciated. Thanking the community in advance. Cheers.
RNKLN
You can use the Cog tool to do this. Make one consisting of 6 segments with the following settings (as depicted): Then Duplicate this one, make it black and rotate 30 degrees. Result will be like this. You can play with the Inner Radius and Hole Radius to make it look more like your example. loukash
Other workflows, depending on what you need. Multi-stroke ellipse – a bit tricky to set up the dash stroke segments symmetrically, but it's possible by trial & error (and possibly by some math, but I don't know which one, haha): Cog clipped by donut, 100% interactive; definitely my favorite: ade_cog_segments_2color_donut.mp4 petepompei, RNKLN, Alfred and 1 other 3 1 Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2
G13RL
Another way to proceed: use the "Polygon Tool", draw a polygon with as many vertices as you want segments. Transform it into a circle with the red point of the "Polygon Tool" and convert it into a curve. With the "Node Tool", select the whole and click "Break Curve". Select each segment and set it to the desired color. You can set the thickness of the line for all the segments or for each segment individually. petepompei

Or just use a black donut & place a red cog over it: That way, the notch size or number of segments (teeth) of the cog can be changed without having to do the same thing to a duplicate cog. Edit: By decreasing the inner radius of the black donut a bit, you could also use it for the black ring that has the dotted white line on it in the casino chip example. jaedee and Alfred 2 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V23.0 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
