KevS
Hi guys, Im new to all of this so apologies in advance about this rambling introduction, but I’m desperate for help. I have an Apple MacBook pro and want to print my own photographs with the best colour management and colour reproduction I can (within a budget). I’m obviously editing with affinity, I’ve calibrated my monitor with Spyder X Pro then trying to go to the next stage ie printing on my canon MG5750 printer have realised there are no drivers for the canon compatible with OS BigSur operating system, other than the Apple air driver which offers reduced colour management options when trying to print. This obviously then negates the process of calibrating the monitor in the first place. As such I’m going to buy an epson expression XP8600 which I understand should have the necessary comparable drivers. My confusion is with the soft proofing process when going to print. When the soft proof layer window opens how do I get the profile for the paper type I will be using (probably Epson Premium glossy paper) into the soft proof window menu to select it. If I buy & install the epson XP8600 will the drivers install the paper type options for epson into the soft proof window. “I’M CONFUSED” please help and apologies again about the long winded question. KevS
Thanks for that BofG, much appreciated. So do they, Epson in this case, make them available on their websites generally or do you have to request them via customer support email for example. KevS
Thanks for that, that’s been a big help, I’ll look at what printers they have and even if they don’t have what I’m looking for, I’ll try an extended search, or check the paper profiles relative to coupled printers where applicable. I appreciate the time you’ve put in to reply, it’s certainly pointed me in the right direction, again much appreciated BofG.
