Sunset
Learning the Mac's ways of doing things has been an interesting little task and yesterday I got stuck into the Beta5. Using nothing but the trackpad (intuos4 in the other room...) I've been getting used to the interface, finding where things are and creating many of the basic building blocks of any design. When I joined I seem to remember a list of things that were still being worked on - brushes comes to mind (and I found the beta symbol after a while), so I don't need to report anything on them at the moment? Staff Andy Somerfield Posted June 25, 2014 Staff Share Posted June 25, 2014 Hi, The beta symbol is more to denote unfinished UI - the brush editing panel, for example, is nowhere near good enough to ship (aesthetically, organisationally, etc.), so it has the beta symbol on it. Functionality, however, should be tested - and everything is currently "fair game" as far as we are concerned. If a button / checkbox / widget claims to do something, it should do it. Glad you are enjoying the trackpad - the "drag two fingers to scroll" coupled with "pinch two fingers to zoom" is a wonderful way to navigate a document. What are your thoughts about the retina display on your rMBP? The first time I saw it, I was blown away.. Thanks, Andy.
Sunset
The retina display is brill, Andy, that was a deciding factor in buying that model in the end. interestingly, I kept on trying to swipe the screen at first, as our Win8 laptop has a touch screen and understands quite a few gestures too (any interpretation of that will do). Thanks for the advice, I'll try something with the brushes again tonight and post it later if I get the same results :) Quote MacBook Pro 11,2, Intel i7 4 core, 8Gb RAM, Graphics Intel Iris Pro. iPad Pro 11.4, 256Gb, 10.5 Retina, A10X Fusion chip, Apple pencil Desktop upgraded to Win10 64-bit, Intel i5 quad core, 8Gb RAM, NVIDIA GefORCE GT730 The Win-10 laptop is on permanent loan to my daughter...... peter
Welcome back Hilary. :D Did you go to Resources and get yourself some brushes? Paolo and Daub are the first two that spring to mind. As for swapping OS's, it's just like having two left feet....Hmmm where's the ⌘ key on my Windows laptop? C'mon, c'mon! It's not there To quote the great Homer: DOH!
