Where are cache files stored for recovery?

Recommended Posts

When Affinity does an auto-save for recovery purposes, you do not need to know where the recovery files are. The recovery process is automatic with two scenarios after an application failure. Either:

  1. You open the program again: If you were working on any files that were not previously Saved by you, and given a name, you will be prompted to recover them.
  2. You use the program and try to open a previously-saved file, you will be prompted to Open the recovery version.

However, where they are saved depends on the OS you use and which Store you purchased from. This FAQ describes the locations of the "user" folder. The "autosave" folder is located in the same area.

I think cache files are usually stored in the program's directory you are installing.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

They are not stored there for the Affinity applications. Please see the information I posted above.

I had several problems with my Mac and wasn’t capable of restoring anything with Affinity. Maybe I am using an older version, I really don’t know, any advice? I went to SALVAGEDATA last time, but the problem still bothers me every day.  For example, my computer doesn’t see software updates available, but it requires an update when I want to install a downloaded program. I searched everywhere, on youtube, on google and still can’t solve it. I got everything on a hard drive and restored Mac to factory settings but got the same problems. Can this be the reason why Affinity also fails to work?
