djancool
I work in the game industry and we use all the channels of a image to store data (so we have 4 greyscale images in 1 image). We use mostly .tiff files. The problem that i have is when i import an .tiff file with an alpha channel my RGB channels get multiplied by the alpha channel and all the data gets destroyed. Photoshop just imports your alpha channel without disturbing the color channels. Gimp gives you an option menu on how you want to import the alpha. I cannot use AP for work if my color channels get destroyed on import. Any help is greatly appriciated
sfriedberg
The Affinity suite not only does this on import, but also on export. It's a well-known issue, and much-complained-about in these forums. So, yes, at the moment, anybody who expects to pack data into the alpha channel should not be using the Affinity suite.
