Affinity asks whether to save changes, when there are none

Recommended Posts

Greetings

I notice that approx 90% of the time, when I have made many changes (including using layers, etc) I save the image with a title.  Next, I "export" the image in the Photo Persona, giving parameters, all goes well.  Then, when I go to close down, I get a message do you want to "save changes".  Well, I have not made changes, because exporting from the Photo Persona, do not encapsulate such changes, so that the query does not mean anything.  As I said above, this is approx 90% of the time,  the other, approx 10% of the time,  I am not asked, which is completely logical.

It's something to do with the fact that Affinity saves the last exported settings

If the settings are changed (or a new document is exported for the first time) then you will be asked to save the document when closing it

Hi Carl

You say that Affinity saves the last exported settings,  but it certainly does not for the Affinity Photo File (or Document).   Does it do this in case

you want to export it from the Photo Persona again?  How often would you do this?  It is so bizarre because it is essentially asking about changes to your Affinity File.

I think the last exported settings are saved to the app and the last exported date/time is saved to the (Affinity) file

But in the latter case the last exported date/time seems to only be reupdated if you change an export setting - which is somewhat misleading

Watch the History panel carefully as you do your Save and then do yur Export, @Jaffa. You will see that when you do the Export an entry is added to the History (and you should see an indication in the document tab at the top of the document window indicating the document now shows as modified). That modification triggers the request to Save again.
