BoneDigger
Using Affinity Designer and Infinity Photo, would it be possible to create a Yin/Yang image and then have one half be one photo and the other half be a different photo? I have found online some tutorials on drawing a yin/yang, but I'm not sure on adding pictures? Would it be possible to import an already drawn yin and yang image online and then just add pictures? Ron P.
Welcome to the forums @BoneDigger, Yes that's possible and not all that difficult. I don't have Designer, just Affinity Photo. I grabbed an image from Pixabay. Created selection using the selection brush of the white part of the yin/yang. Created a duplicate (CTL+J). Repeat for the black part. I opened an image, then just duplicated it to be used in each part. Clipped the image to each part. Then placed an Ellipse with no fill, just outline around those images. I also decided to use the Outline found in the Layer Effects For fun applied a 3D and Bevel/Emboss. Fixx
AD has Paste Inside command which makes this easy. (Or you can do layer nesting, same thing.)
GarryP
In case anyone reading this is interested, I have attached a video showing one way you can quickly draw a ‘ying yang’ symbol. (The guides are used to make it easier to snap the centre of rotation later in the video.) It might not be a perfect ‘ying yang’ – I don’t know if there are specific geometries that need to be used – but it’s probably okay for most basic purposes. 2021-04-22 09-44-47.mp4
