I would like the ability to mask out the horizon so that only the night sky is aligned. Currently, I am using a software called 'Sequator' to align my photos, but this software only provides an single file output. The reason I ask is AP has a couple of Stack options, File>New Stack, and the newest feature, File>Astrophotography Stack. Have you tried one of those? For aligning, you can use the Difference blend mode to align two layers. Changing the top layer to Difference blend mode. Total black, indicates they are aligned.
