MartinKirk
Instead of letting me download the update and install it manually. It would be nice if Affinity Photo would update automatically in the background...
emmrecs01
@MartinKirk I have to say that this is one feature I would not like to see as the default! I very much prefer to know exactly when any update is being offered in any app and so be able to decide whether "now" is an appropriate time to download and install it or whether "it can wait until I have finished what I am currently doing". Quote Win 10 Pro, i7 6700K, 32Gb RAM, NVidia GTX1660 Ti and Intel HD530 Graphics Long-time user of Serif products, chiefly PagePlus and PhotoPlus, but also WebPlus, CraftArtistProfessional and DrawPlus. Delighted to be using Affinity Designer, Photo, and now Publisher, version 1 and now version 2. iPad Pro (12.9") (iOS 18.0.1) running Affinity Photo and Designer version 1 and all three version 2 apps. There's NO reason why you shouldn't have the ability to disable auto updates... Also - it's meant to upgrade when you are not using the program.. eg after you close Affinity Photo. (just like a lot of programs do these days)
pixelstuff
I think what I would like is a small icon in the upper right next to the user profile to show up saying there is an update. Hover to see what is new and click it to start the update in the background. Once it is done you get another notice saying you can restart to use the new version.
