The whole document is tilted

Recommended Posts

I was working in my document, made an incidental swipe with the mouse and the whole document went cockeyed, about five degrees to the right. Undo doesn't change anything and I can't think for the life of me what I did or how to undo it. Please help!

Hello @AHEA Ed, and welcome to the forum.

Open the History panel (usually in the tab next to the Layer panel). Can you see a step there which indicates the rotation. If you can see this, then click on the step before that one.

Thanks John. That is helpful to know! But unfortunately no matter how far back I go, even to the start, everything is still tilted.

View menu - Reset Rotation should fix it.

Ahh! That did it! I suspected it didn't actually change the document, and this confirms it. Just the view of it. Thanks! I wonder what I did that made it change in the first place? In any case this solved it. Thanks again.

If Reset Rotation fails, then the only thing I can suggest is to explicitly rotate the document back again in the Transform  Panel  or use the straighten tool.

With a trackpad (macOS) a two-finger twirling gesture (easier done than said, ) and command and drag. Not sure with a mouse but you there are options to turn it off in Preferences - Tools:
