vzm
Hey! I am a complete newbie to the Affinity Photo and I am struggling with few things. I am originally a web developer so I do not create the content most of the time - I only get the proportions, colors, font-sizes etc. The first question is how do I get the proportions of single part of the image (object that doesn't have to be defined in Layers). I'm looking for something like a ruler to measure (height, width) parts of the image as rectangles. And the last one - is there something like a color picker tool available in Affinity (like it's in Photoshop)? I've read many posts about related topics but it's still not clear to me. Thanks in advance! :)
Staff MEB Posted October 17, 2015 Staff Share Posted October 17, 2015 Hello vzw, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) If you select the image layer in the Layers panel and go to the Transform panel on the bottom right of the interface you can see the image dimensions there. The colour-picker is located on the Colour tab (on the right of the interface). Drag the Colour Picker icon to the colour you want to pick then go to the swatch next to the Colour Picker icon in the panel to apply the colour. Staff Callum Posted October 17, 2015 Staff Share Posted October 17, 2015 Hi VZM Welcome to the Forums :) You can enable Rulers by going to View and then Show Rulers this should allow you to measure your objects. The Colour Picker can be found at the top right of the Colour tab I have included a screenshot of this to make things easier. I hope this helps. VIPStephan
Also, what I’m doing sometimes to find out the dimensions of an unspecific part of an image is to draw a rectangle of the desired size (with pixel snapping switched on) and then look at the dimensions in the Transform panel.
