Hi

When I have used one of the merge functions (HDR or stacking) is there any way I can get rid of the source images?  Once I am happy with the image I don't need the sources and all they do (I think) is increase the file size.  I've searched all over and cannot see how to do it.

Many thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

one simple option is to copy the pixel layer you want to keep, and select File>New From Clipboard. Then save the new file asap, before you close the redundant original file, to avoid loosing your edits in case of disruptions.

This could help in many situations to get rid of unwantend ballest like history (not only in Affinity software).

My posts focus on technical aspects and leave out most of social grease like „maybe“, „in my opinion“, „I might be wrong“ etc. just add copy/paste all these softeners from this signature to make reading more comfortable for you. Otherwise I’m a fine person which respects you and everyone and wants to be respected.
