ericosmosNEW
Hey all, I routinely lock layers that I don’t want to be changed in any way. Now here is my problem: while the layer lock function works for unintended dragging it doesn’t seem to work for unintended drawing or erasing. I constantly get frustrated because sometimes I have drawn a lot accidentally on the wrong layer (with Lock activated). Am I missing something here? Maybe in the preferences? Staff MEB Posted April 14, 2021 Staff Share Posted April 14, 2021 Hi @ericosmosNEW, Welcome tyo Affinity Forums This is working as designed. In Affinity apps the lock function only prevents you from transforming the object on the canvas. You can still select the object in the Layers panel and edit its attributes, paint on it etc without having to unlock and lock it again. Currently there's no way to fully lock an object. Quite a few users requested a full lock option (both for iOS and desktop versions). Feel free to add your voice to one of these threads in the feedback section. ericosmosNEW
Thank you for your reply. I really think a full lock option would spare many users a lot of frustration. Do you have an existing post I can add my voice to?

ericosmosNEW
Thank you. Added my vote for a real Layer Lock. Protecting layers from ANY unwanted/accidental change is really important for many applications.
