walt.farrell
What leads you to think it's coming sometime soon? We might see 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, etc. before we ever get to 2.0. Old Bruce
Then there are major and paid releases after (for example) BBEdit 12.6 jumps to 13.0 I recall software versions going from 5.4 to 5.5 and requiring a payment for the upgrade even though 5.0 to 5.4 was free and 5.5 on up to 5.8 were free upgrades. Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

So I expect the same, now how long it takes to get to 2.0 is another thing lol. I'm just excited! MattP

There is nothing really to say if we will go from 1.8 straight to 2.0 or equally we could go (for example) from 1.7 to 1.8 to 1.9 to 1.10 to 1.11 before 2.0. Feel free to be excited, but you may need to sustain that level of excitement for a few years (Or maybe they'll announce it tomorrow. But that was equally true any time since Patrick made that post nearly two years ago.) Yes they have gone from x.0.y to x.9.y so why not x.10.y and x.11.y I think what walt and I are trying to say is that the . (dot) is just a separator, it is not a decimal equivalent. walt.farrell 1 Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. RNKLN
But, now that 1.9.3 has been released without any beta versions, may we expect that the next beta that shows up will provide the answer? SteveP110
Isn't it time to consolidate, fix all of those long time persistent bugs Boolean operations, more reliable convert to curves etc. Then move on to additional features. Adding features at the moment just appears to break something. The dream I had when Affinity Designer was first announced is unfortunately still a dream. ronnyb and Dazmondo77 1
thomasp
Hmmm, excitement would depend... is anything known about the planned feature set of the next major version? I would hope that it brings scripting capabilities. Not to sound unhappy with what we have now, I'm working with it and all. 😇 CanRau

pruus
I watched Affinity in the past time. When the forum questions are not answered as fast as normal, then there is going something on. Fingers crossed.
ajharok
They have much work to do to fix all the bugs before they can go to work on 2.0. The apps now are to buggy for real work.
Guest
+1 with regard to bug fixes. While I'm excited to see what the future holds for Affinity, I'd feel much more optimistic about it if it didn't come with an ever growing set of long-standing bugs. dsnaps12
Well with the timelines Serif has released in the past 2.0 could possibly show up end of year or early next. All the bug fixes might be 1.10, 1.11 etc. December 2015 - 1.4 December 2016 - 1.5 November 2017 - 1.6 June 2019 - 1.7 March 2020 - 1.8 February 2021 - 1.9 Fixing all the bugs with some usability fixes and updates of current features would be a good foundation to introduce brand new features later.
