Hi krunberry

Thanks for posting on the forums!

With regards to the sizing of the text box, if there is too much text for the capacity of the frame it will overflow as this is by design. For this I would suggest altering the size of the text frame or the size of the text that has been inserted. Alternatively you could create a clipping mask for the text frame which would allow you to manually show only a portion of the text. I have attached a video of this for you  :)

I want the text to be able to adjust inside the text box as I change the size. JFisher, your video doesn't quite show what I want. I am doing an assignment where I am making blocks of text as texture, and I want the text to adjust inside the box, as it does, except for not spilling out the bottom. As I adjust it, I want more of the text to be visible. The spillover makes sense, except when you want a text box an exact size, (as in the squares I am trying to make) and want to adjust the size of the text instead of the size of the text box. So, I am still stumped.

Since you are using the text as a texture could you create what ever amount of text you need, convert it to curves and enclose it in a clipping mask? That way when you change the size of the clipping mask, more or less "text" will be revealed and none will show outside the mask.
