"Unsupported Machine Configuration" false warning on Windows 10 Education

Recommended Posts

On Windows 10 Education, the "Unsupported Machine Configuration" warning when enabling Hardware Acceleration in Affinity Photo is falsely triggered, even with the same version of Windows 10 (10.0.19042). I'm assuming this is a bug considering Windows 10 and Windows 10 Education are practically the exact same and that it should be expected for Windows 10 Education to support hardware acceleration the same as standard Windows 10.

This is with Affinity Photo 1.9.2.1035.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

Have you considered that the message mentions two conditions (Windows 10.0.19042 or newer; and a modern GPU). Thus, if the Windows version is correct, as it seems to be, the implication is that your GPU is not sufficient.

What GPU do you have?

What capabilities does it have, as shown by the DXDIAG command?

I am running an AMD RX 5700 XT with latest drivers, which I assumed should be more than sufficient given it should have all modern capabilities.
