When I download some asset files and I go click on the file, it brings up a pop up that says I need to download an app from Microsoft store in order to open, but that doesn't work. If I go to Affinity designer and click import asset, it says "unable to import file". What do I do?

Welcome to the Forums @Cr1ym  Are the assets you are trying to import in .afassets format?  There is also this information that might help you.

The link is vectorAssets-Screech.zip 2.35 MB and I can't import it for some reason.

It’s a zip archive. There should be a *.afassets file zipped up inside it: you need to extract it (i.e. unzip it) before you can import it into the app.

Same here,

If it is the same as CR1ym, then the same answer as just above your post (answer from Alfred) applies. You need to Unzip the file before you can import the .afassets file that it contains.

I solved it by finding the latest backup of my Assets library not on my machine, but on Google Drive.

I was trying to import assets from my external drive and failing to do the import, as many of You may be finding out…

macOS newest operating Sistem: Ventura 13 and Serif products, are not getting along two well regarding external drive backups negotiations between devices.

If, you have a backup in the cloud, your problem is solved.
