pummelfee
Please can someone help me; in the TOC, the Page numbers are always in the next line. What can i do, to have them on the same line as the entry/headline is? So, there is lot more confusion.... I have a brochure, around 90 Pages and the TOC is messed up from the middle. I mostly have two headlines Head Sub-Headline and - i dont know why - from around page 50 the Head from page 50 is wrongly assigned two Sub-Headline on page 54... For now i just can’t make use of the TOC and i will make it manually....
walt.farrell
It would help to have a screenshot that shows what you're talking about. walt.farrell
Thanks, but if anything that leaves me even more confused. You seem to have a mixture of styles in your headings, with sometimes the lighter-weight text on top (on the document page) and sometimes the larger, bolder text on top. I suspect that that ordering is related to your problem, but I would need to see complete pages and, for the pages, the Layers panel to provide some additional details. I would also need to know exactly what Paragraph Text Styles are applied to each part of the headings. I would probably need a sample .afpub document including the TOC and at least one page where the TOC is right and one page where the TOC is wrong to understand what is happening. Sorry. The ToC paragraph styles are messed up, this is very easy to do by mistake and or by design. The screen shot shows how the Align to Right tab stop should be set, 0 (zero) inches/cm/picas for the distance from right with the check box being checked. Another way of messing things up is to resize the text frame holding the ToC. If it is too narrow then the page number gets bumped down. If the default tab stop is too large then the following can happen too. I frequently just delete the ToC and the frame it was in and start over. This whole method of setting up a ToC is maddening to comprehend. pummelfee
Ok, i have checked if it makes a difference how the two textboxes (Head 1 and Head 2) are ordered. It isn’t. Also the tabs are not the problem.
walt.farrell
Again, a sample document would be helpful. Given the number of possible configurations that is often the only good way to resolve an issue. walt.farrell
After some private communications: the main issue seems to have been that the headings' text frames were created in the wrong order, and were thus in the wrong order in the layer stack, and thus came out in the wrong order in the TOC.
