Mediafuel Posted October 15, 2015 Share Posted October 15, 2015 Hello. Can the angle of a linear gradient be changed? I have a curved line/stroke which I have applied a gradient to. The angle at which the gradient changes from one colour to another is vertical (0 deg). Can I change this angle to make it lean one way or another, perhaps by degrees? Staff Callum Posted October 15, 2015 Staff Share Posted October 15, 2015 Hi Mediafuel, If you use the Fill Tool [G] and set the Context to Stroke and the Type to Linear you will be able to draw your own gradient within the curve and change the angle of it by dragging the nodes. It is good to know that I can adjust the angle of the gradient, but it will not provide the solution I am after. As I am new to this type of software I am probably not looking at the problem the right way. There are probably many ways to do this job, but I want to have multiple colour changes along the length of the line and have the gradient changes be normal to the localised part of the path/stroke. It appears that even though I can create a multi coloured gradient and change its orientation, the angle is uniform across the curve. I do not seem to be able to find a way to adjust the linear nature of the gradient. Hopefully the screenshots below help shed some light. I wish i have that and a few more options too, but currently there's no way to make the gradient follow the path no matter if along with it or perpendicular to it.
