Make Affinity Products Accessible

Recommended Posts

I'm a blind user and would like to be able to use your products more easily. I have had to create labels and scripts to access certain features, but I would love for the product to be accessible out of the box. Can you please make your products compatible with VoiceOver (Apple's screen reading feature)? I am happy to test it for you.

I have experimented with that a bit, and unfortunately it doesn't work very well. Many of the Affinity UI elements are of a custom type, invisible to the System Events scripting, i.e. they are only clickable by using coordinates relative to the window bounds.

Here's a long thread on Affinity Publisher scripting:

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2
