Yeah,  totally agree.   Been asking for it couple years  already and people tell me  use Shapshots.     Hell no. Snapshots are nothing  even remotely close.  I don't need slices of time.  I need ever current and update-able document variations.

They did kind of color and name tagging for layers    so why not  do another small step and turn it to layercomps  or call it  "tag" panel  with document states.   Would be first step    at least.    Although I do need  those comps to be aware of embedded documents layercomps too.

I've been trying to use Snapshots since Affinity doesn't have Layer Comps and it's really tedious.  In my case I'm making cards for a game.  All the cards have the same background, but different stats and artwork showing.  I've saved each card's configuration as a Snapshot with the appropriate layers visible.  But now I realized I need to adjust the stats a bit and change some fonts from black to white.  I'm having to edit each and every Snapshot, rather than change the stats/fonts once and then tell all the Snapshots to update.  Layer Comps are the biggest feature I miss from my Photoshop days (and the ability to quickly export all the Layer Comps as their own flat file).  Add this one feature and I'd stop pining for PS.

And can't templates be used for that?

If it was not entirely clear from the chronology, then I respond to the post G Jaros.

This is my first post as I'm new to Affinity world.

I want to vote for implementation of "Layer comps" kind of tool to Affinity. Even if it will have at the beginning just option to set a state of  visible/non-visible of the layers set and option to export this states (stages) as files.

This is tool I miss most. It really makes the live easier when you want to have different version of the same picture.

I tried snapshots but it's  even not near to the flexibility of "Layer Comps" tool.
