steeleaffinity
Hey guys, question as above. Example below: I want to draw a white rectangle under the dark area so that instead of the manilla showing white does instead. How would I go about doing that in affinity designer? Thanks, Steele
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Steele. Without being able to see the Layers panel it’s impossible to know the structure of the document, but you can restrict the effect of a mask by nesting it in, or grouping it with, the target layer. If you can supply more details, or attach a Designer document or a better screenshot, it should be possible to advise you further. firstdefence 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)

It's for Affinity Photo, but this tutorial nicely demonstrates the general Affinity concept of masking and clipping layers:affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/318402519 Alfred 1 Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2
