Astrophotography Mosaics

Recommended Posts

I would like to know if it is possible to include a mosaic function in the Astrophotography stacking tools.  Also, if it is possible to include a photometric color calibration as in Siril.  I also want you thank you for these great tools, I have just completed my first pic done totally from within Affinity(stack and post process) and am very happy with the results, using James Ritson's macros.

I would also like to say Thank you for all these new Astrophotography tools. Since this is integrated into Affinity Photo I'm using it very often. Most things work really well. But I'm also missing the option to stack mosaics as doing this for each panel individually leads to a lot of nearly unsolvable problems - maybe it can already be done this way, in that case please let James Ritson show how to do so. Otherwise please consider adding support for mosaics.

What I'm missing now is a better way for color calibration. It works okay, but it could be better. The background extraction is not really performing well for me. It works good when you have a good image quality with only a small gradient. But sometimes the gradient is very complex and when doing a background extraction in such cases the final image only works with a nearly black background which looks very unnatural. I have found workarounds for most of these things, but it is not so nice.

I also really appreciate the performance improvements made for M1 Macs, the differences are really noticeable.
