Dimetrios
Hello all! Maybe this question was already here. The problem is this. I made a texture line curve by brush with my tablet pen. The brush style is simple, it's a solid engrave line, from the brushes engraving stack under number 3 from the top. Then I want to convert this curve to an object. I have tried it by clicking Expand Stroke but haven't got any. The curve still remains a curve. But if I would make my curve by the solid line style I got an object after using Expand Stroke feature. Please, could you explain and help me? Edited April 5, 2021 by Dimetrios
firstdefence
Welcome to the forum @Dimetrios The vector brushes aren't technically vector brushes, they are raster images on a vector curve, so expanding the stroke will not work because the texture is pixel based not vector based, the only solution would be to export the curve to a png file and use a trace app to convert the pixels into vector and then import it back into affinity. Exactly! It's just a raster image. I will try use your tip. Thank you.
firstdefence
Yes, its not ideal and a round trip PITA. but maybe in the future we will get true vector brushes and in app trace capabilities which will certainly make life easier. As a side note there is an app called vectorstyler that is in beta take a look at it as a possible compliment app to affinity. Dimetrios
Yes, as for true vector brushes it would be cool. And anyway, it's very convenient to make artwork with these brushes, especially some details. Ok, I will look at this app. Thanx a lot!
