curves alpha picker bug

Recommended Posts

Problem:

If you select "alpha" channel and use the color picker, the picker samples the intensity (gray level) instead of the alpha value. This makes the picker useless for alpha channel.

Suggested resolution:

To solve the issue, you should let the user choose which channel he wants to use for the picker (independent from which channel he selected for the curve).

Proof of issue:

The testfile has a gradient from left to right from 0 to 100% luminosity.

The lower half is at 100% opacity.

The upper part is of 50% opacity.

When you open the curves adjustment, activate the picker, and pick a color/node next to one of the stars, it should always deliver a 50% alpha node.

Instead, it picks the luminosity value of 25/50/75%
