how to install affinity apps for 2 users win10

Recommended Posts

I have two user's accounts (Windows 10 20h2) I would like to install affinity apps for each user separately.

I have two licences keys for each app, when I was trying to enter second key I have got this error:

How to solve this?

I don't think you can use more than one license per application per machine.

The program files will be installed system-wide, and that includes the license information. The user options will be kept separate, including installed brushes, assets, studio layouts, etc.

If both users are using the software commercially you do need two licenses, but nothing requires you to install them both on the same machine as far as I know. And the software will work for both users even with only one license installed.

Thank you for the answer. One licence don't work for both accounts, Designer loads with 10 days trial for second user.

It strikes me as odd that the XML file for the Windows version is in the (system wide) Program Data folder but the one for the Mac version is in a user library folder.

It does for me.

How did you install the program? I installed it once, from an Administrator account, into C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo. (Designer should work the same way.)

It is then usable by all my users. The first time I ran it (under the Administrator account) it asked me to accept the license agreement, and then it prompted for the email and product key associated with the application, and asked me to Register (the new 1.9 function).

When I logged in as the other user, and ran the program, it asked me to accept the license agreement. It then asked me to Register (the new 1.9 function). It did not ask for the email and product key again.

Yes, both accounts are administrators

Administrator "privileges", and administrator "account" is something else.

Edit: If you are installing something under a User Account, it is an installation intended for that single user. Other users may have problems with this installation (or may not work at all). If you perform the installation under the Administrator account, it is an installation intended for all users of this PC.

Did you install it twice, or did you install it once as I mentioned above?

You should install once, and enter the license info once.
